Tragic Death of Wife in An Accident
Chris Berman married Kathy Alexinski on July 23, 1983, and they had been together for over 33 years. The pair has two children, one son, and a daughter. She was a teacher before the marriage. Then, Kathy stopped working and focused on raising her two children.
Kathy died at 67 years old after crashing her car with the Edward Bertulis car in Waterbury, Connecticut, on May 9, 2017. He was 87 years old and also died in the accident.
Kathy had a blood-alcohol level of three times more than the legit limit when she slammed her Lexus into the back of Edward’s car, killing them both, a state police report received by the Courant Concludes. The investigation concludes that she was speeding, not maintaining a lane, and never applied a brake before she hit the Bertulis car.
The 87-year-old man was driving on Sherman Hill Road in Woodbury after visiting his wife’s grave. The caster’s wife had just left the nearby marketplace Kitchen & Bar. The reconstruction team stated that Berman lost control of the car while negotiating a left curve of Trolley Bed Road. As a result, her vehicle went off the road and crashed into the guardrail before returning to the roadway. Berman was driving up to 82kmph at the time of the crash when the road limit was 45mph.
After the crash, state police interviewed Chris Berman, who went to New York for a Mets game on the afternoon of the impact. Berman said that he left for New York that day before they scheduled to leave for Florida to celebrate his birthday the day after the crash. Additionally, Chris told to police that she was suffered a minor back fracture and was being treated for it.
